MTV Overdrive

So, I recently got an email from mtv.com inviting me to try out mtv's new software/broadband video channel, MTV Overdrive. I think it's just another way for me to spend too much time watching MTV related things, but I checked it out anyway, and it was pretty cool. Bascilaly, the program launches a window and lets you watch videos, news and MTV shows anytime you want, and you can pick and choose what you want to watch. I didn't get to try everything because my computer is having memory and speed issues, but the videos were really high quality - much better than Launch, Yahoo's video and music service. There's of course the trade-off though of it slowing down your computer more than Launch does, and there was actaully a warning in the email saying that the program has "demanding system requirements." As far as I know, Overdrive hasn't officially launched yet, but be sure to check it out once it does.

In the meantime, check out Black Eyed Peas' new video and song "Don't Phunk With My Heart." It doesn't really sound like Fergie in there, but I like this song a lot - very catchy.

That program sounds really cool! Does it cost money to sign up for it?? There are times when i just feel like watching a video or looking for one that i have heard people talking about, so i think its definitly useful. That sucks that it takes up so much space though, i know my computer was running slow recently and i've been thinking twice before i put anything on there that i think might slow it down. Thanks for the great info!

That DOES sound like a really cool feature to try out on MTV. I'm so tired of turning on MTV in the morning and seeing the same songs played over and over again. I could swear that they have them on repeat or something. I'll have to check it out.
